For My Momma!

As I said in my last post Matt, and Kay and I visited the Ruth Bancroft Gardens here in Walnut Creek. While we were there I took the following video. This video is to entice my mom into another visit. My mom has a green body...this would be a green thumb + a green hand + a green arm, etc. She is great with anything that is green and grows, and I really really really think that she would like this garden. So... enjoy Mom! (beware, video begins with blurry exploration into cactus pollination ;-)

Visit from The Beardsleys!

Last week we had Matt's mom and dad visiting. They were (initially) in town for Matt's dad's Opthamology conference and Matt's mom stayed for an additional 5 days. We had a great time. Here are some pictures of our adventures:

We went to the Ruth Bancroft Gardens in Walnut Creek. These gardens feature lots and lots of beautiful (and blooming now) cacti and succulents. Here are Matt, Kay and Joey in the gardens:

The blooms in the garden were really pretty!

Matt decided this was his favorite cactus:

I Think a Change Would Do Us Good!

I am using The Cutest Blog on the Block for templates. It's a great site....soooooo easy to change, and free! They've just changed their old site and updated it with lots and lots of new templates and tips and that's why my background has been down for a while. So in the spirit of change, here is a new, fun, summery template. Hope you all enjoy!

I'm also attaching a video of Joey's first pool trip. :-)

First Trip to the Pool

Going in order with the events I've missed....here are some pictures from Joey's first trip to the pool.

Matt's great at the one-handed family shots!

When we were finished, Joey was a little sleepy!

Since that first trip, we've been several more times. I'll post more pictures later, and some with his new raft! (which he loves!)

Update with No Pictures :-(

Well I realized today that I am far behind with my updates so I went to look for some pictures I could throw up here.... and I haven't downloaded any recently! We've had some big events, first trip to the pool, Joey's baptism and Matt's parents visiting. Matt's mom just left this morning and we are working on getting back into the swing of things. We are also in the process of looking for a place to live next year. While we love Martinez, it's a bit far for Matt's (3 day-a-week) commute into San Francisco and our church and all of our friends. So....we've been thinking that when our lease ends at the end of July we would try to move closer in to the city. Oakland is where we've looked the most and is also where our church and church family are. It is also the first big city you reach after crossing the bay bridge and an area full of a great deal of diversity and character. Hopefully we'll have more information to come!

Matt has been working hard through his first wedding season, alternating engagement shoots and weddings and some new work at product shoots for a company called Bond (that makes outdoor firepits and fireplaces), and a little real estate shooting. He is also trying to break into the stock photography market. You can find some of his photos at SnapVillage searching for "magic baby". The picture of Josiah hanging on the clothesline won Matt a second place in his spring art show! You can also find his photos on istock although I couldn't find any, but there are a ton there!

Now we are (hopefully) coming to a close on our house search, enjoying time with friends from church (and lots of new babies!) and waiting for a trip to the east coast (and both of our hometowns and families) in about 2 weeks.

Hopefully I'll be able to put up some pictures later of our life in the past few weeks!

Sundays

I'm a little bit sleepy this morning....

It's because Sunday is the day we go to church. Church is the place where we get to sing and worship God!

I love God!

What I do not love, is that on Sundays, I do not usually get to take a nap!

Sometimes it's very hard for me to sleep, when Mommy and Daddy bring me home because my schedule is all off! That makes me feel sad.

But I am happy to go to church and get to see my friends and church family! I will be even more excited when I am a little older and I only need 1 nap a day!
