Again

Ok again.... 2 Beardsley votes for Syesha!

She is amazing (and David Cook has nothing to fear as usual)

(This is my first season of American Idol, so you'll have to pardon my enthusiasum!)

(As they recapped tonight Matt asked, when they got to Jason Castro, if we could vote against him! I love my husband!)

TORN

AHHH! I'm so torn!! Vote for Syesha to keep her in (because she is by FAR the best female...and my second favorite, AND I think she is really amazing, AND for some CRAZY reason America isn't too fond of her...

...OR vote for David Cook because I think he really should be the next American Idol, he has the best voice, and he totally ROCKS (and other reasons I am unable to post for fear of judgment ;-) !

Well Syesha got our votes last week (because my husband is very sweet and loves me!) but......ahhhh.

Torn.

My Husband's Worst Nightmare

All my finger has to do is hover near his screen to point at something and he breaks out into a cold sweat.

Here they are!

Why things just got a LOT more serious at our house...

Well I haven't had a chance to blog about this yet, and hopefully I can include some pictures later, but Matt and I have decided to make a serious investment in Matt Beardsley Photo - his new photography business. With a summer full of weddings and many inquiries still coming in Matt felt that he needed to really commit to the business to make it work so he bought a second (new) camera, and our "new" baby is now the "old" baby, the back-up camera. We also bought a new computer for all the photoshopping (very hard to do professionally on a laptop). He got a lighting system and looks totally pro now! Matt is currently redoing his website and working on the 3rd price hike!! (if you are looking for a wedding photographer, you'd better book him now). We are officially a California recognized business, Matt Beardsley Photo, and I am his partner!! :-) (I am honored to be working with/for the greatest photographer!!)

Like I said, I'm hoping to include some photos soon... but today is a BEAUTIFUL day, so we'll be out playing. :-)

He tells me the new website will be up and running soon, (with no site name change) so you can click on the link now, and then in a few days and see the new face of Matt Beardsley Photo!!

First Swing

I see many playgrounds in our future.

Monterey Animals

This is some stuff from our whale watching trip and then some pictures of new seal pups near the aquarium.

There is a seal pup right in the center of the picture. You probably have to zoom in to really see him. He's white and black and we were told that even the ones who are a few days old have more brown, but that one is a brand new one!

The last picture is of the Beardsley men on our whale watching trip. Joey was a trooper for the whole 3 hours (Matt did ok too). He spent most of his time inside...the sun and wind were too much for those little eyes. The boat was nice and had a large inside area with cushioned benches, bathrooms and room for his "bed" :-). When he wasn't watching sea lions and whales through the windows, Joey slept in his stroller. I was a little wary of a long day out on the sea, but Joey was great! (And we made lots of use of Joey's cute hat from his aunt and uncle!!)

Monterey Bay Aquarium

Here is a picture of Matt at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. This is where he really wanted to go for his birthday. The aquarium really is amazing. We saw alot of really great exhibits, and pretty much spent the whole day there.

Happy Birthday to Matt!

On Thursday we celebrated Matt's 27th birthday!! (Gosh I'm glad I'm not that old yet! ;-) We left early Thursday morning (probably not a great start for Matt's birthday - those of you who know Matt understand) and drove down to Monterey, CA. to see the Monterey Bay Aquarium (famed best in the states!) and spent Thursday night and all of Friday in Monterey.

We spent a day at the aquarium, ate some good seafood, went to a park and let Joey try his first swings. We decided to really throw caution to the wind when we stayed overnight and for the second day. (no naps for 2 days for a baby who is pretty specific about napping in his own crib - whew) Then today we sampled some local brew (at Bad Ass Coffee ;-) visited a museum (that's a funny story) and went whale watching. Then we visited a harbor seal nursery and sampled some more coffee and drove home. Finally Joey is asleep in his own crib and I really hope I can share some pictures tomorrow.

I had a great time with my sweet (and now slightly older) husband, and Josiah was really a champ!! It was a fun few days of many firsts for us as a family of 3!!

Sleepy

Just for fun...

Just for fun, I have another funny Craigslist posting to share!

Man, in between this and the pencils, we are being faced with some offers that are really hard to turn down!

If it plays music and lights up...

...chances are that Joey will smile at it and try to eat it.
(Caution: if you aren't family or a Joey-lover this video might be a little long for you, in fact, even if you are, it might still be a little long:-)

Happy Belated Easter

A great reason to continue to celebrate the gift of our Savior....reliving Easter a few weeks late. We enjoyed a great brunch with our church family, and Matt joined in the worship at church with his electric guitar. Here is our family picture! (We are outside of our church in Oakland, CA. where we are hoping to move in July when our lease is up in Martinez)

When we got home, after we had ALL napped :-) Joey got to open his Easter Basket. He got to try some new foods, since he was 6 months, and he got a few new toys.

As you can see (look at the shirt!) Joey had already enjoyed some of his new foods.

Daddy helping...

His favorite present was his little bunny from Matt's parents.

And of course, we had to put him in his Easter basket.

But not without his bunny!

Drinkin' My Bottle, myself!

Something new everyday...

Whoever Said Babies Are Expensive??

Babies aren't cheap, but they aren't nearly as expensive as our health insurance!

As a family of 3...our health insurance is 7 times more expensive than mine as a single 25-year old woman. 7 times!!!!

(Good thing I couldn't make that any larger, or you all would just be staring at a giant 7.)

Just One of Those Days...

There are some days when all I can do is just be amazed at my son...the way he sits or laughs or does something I didn't even know he could do. Everyday he learns something new!! We are so blessed to have this little life!

(For your prayers today check out Nate's Blog. I'm sure much could still change, but this could be it.)

And this one, has all 4 of us!!
